InstaHonest ("we", "our", or "the app") is a mutual accountability app that helps partners monitor app installation and usage on each other's devices. Your privacy matters to us, and this policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

• Apple ID Authentication: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, optionally, your name and email address. You may choose to hide your email using Apple's private relay.
• App Installation Status: Whether specific apps (selected by you) are currently installed on your device.
• Screen Time Usage Events: When you use a monitored app, a timestamp is recorded. We do not collect the content of your activity, browsing history, or any data within those apps.
• Device Token: A push notification token so we can deliver alerts to your device.
• Partner Link: A reference connecting your account to your partner's account, established only when both parties mutually agree to link.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide mutual accountability between you and your linked partner.
• To send push notifications when a monitored app is installed, removed, or used.
• To maintain your subscription status.
• To authenticate your identity and secure your account.

3. Data Sharing

Your app installation status and usage events are shared only with your linked partner — the person you have mutually agreed to connect with inside the app. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Firebase Authentication: To securely manage sign-in via Apple.
• Firebase Realtime Database: To store and sync your account data and monitoring status.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: To deliver push notifications.
• Apple StoreKit: To process subscription purchases. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or store your payment details.
• Apple Screen Time / Family Controls: To detect usage of monitored apps on-device.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Firebase Realtime Database with security rules that restrict access to authenticated users and their linked partners only. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device within an app group container.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account through the app, all of your data — including monitoring history, partner links, and notification tokens — is permanently removed from our servers.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: Your monitoring data is visible to you in the app at all times.
• Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings within the app.
• Unlink from your partner: You can disconnect from your partner at any time.
• Withdraw consent: You can revoke Screen Time permissions or sign out at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

InstaHonest is not intended for use by children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
